Wedding Day Vision…

I had no real theme in mind. I only knew that I wanted it simple yet sophisticated with dashes of colour around.

Destination Wedding…

The best part of our destination wedding was seeing all our family and friends in the same place enjoying themselves. With Alasdair’s family living overseas, it was the first time our two families were meeting. It was just an amazing feeling knowing that everyone had travelled so far to share our special day with us.

Whitsunday Wedding Planning…

I had a wonderful wedding planner, Roxy from The Wedding Planners Whitsundays. She absolutely went above and beyond! I couldn’t have done it without her! I also spent a lot of time with my amazing mum (who was always there for a chat and to offer advice) searching Pinterest and organising small details. A massive thank you to both!!!

Brides Wisdom…

Use a wedding planner! They’re fantastic and have done it all before. They have a million suggestions if needed and are always there to chat or talk through the decisions you need to make.  Plus, they know the area and all the great suppliers!

Destination Wedding Advice…

Read reviews and do your research before making any decisions.

As for your guests… let them do what they want! It’s not worth the stress of trying to micro manage a big group.

Cassey and Mark – Villa Botanica

Airlie Beach held some great memories for Mark and I as we got engaged on Whitehaven Beach after a helicopter ride over the “heart of the reef” just over 12 months prior to our wedding. It’s not easy trying to pick a wedding venue in the Whitsundays as there are so many possibilities.

Tanya and Brendan – Montes Reef Resort and The Palm House

Parasols, lace, chandaliers and a VW Kombi were just some of the elements that went into this shabby chic beach wedding in the Whitsundays. A seaside ceremony on the sand, followed by a formal reception at The Palm House.

Yelly and Ben – Whitehaven Beach

If you are thinking about eloping. Stop. Don’t think about it, just do it. Eloping was the best thing we ever did. It gave us the opportunity to experience a hassle free day, in a location that was perfect for us. All we had to focus on was marrying each other (while Total Weddings took care of the rest)…
