If total beauty, style and a stress free wedding is in your dreams then Villa is the venue! ~ Amy & Ryland

Love Story…

This romance started with an innocent little work email that Ryland sent Amy, requesting a lunch date. Amy accepted the offer and the rest as they say “is history”.

Your vision…

We had a vision of what our day was going to be like. We knew we wanted a tropical Balinese style wedding. We also wanted the ceremony and reception to be in one venue.

Of course when the couple found VIlla Botanica after months and months of searching, they just knew it was the venue for them. The ceremony was held under the hand carved timber pavillion on the terrace lawn and was the perfect setting for Amy’s wedding day vision of pure white, ivory and pure elegance. Amy admits that her vision of the day really stemmed from the dress which was picked well ahead of anything else.

If I’m going to be completely honest the entire styling started years before with The Dress which then dictated every decision from color theme to the cake.

The Wedding Week…

A destination wedding for us meant one big family holiday that we happened to get married on! My dad still is talking about how great it was that all of our guests stayed with us and with most of them staying the entire 5 nights. Its something we will cherish forever!

Amy and Ryland had not visited the Whitsundays prior to their wedding day so it made perfect sense for them to stay a little longer and enjoy all that the Whitsundays has to offer. The events kicked off two days before the wedding day with an icebreaker dinner at Port Of Airlie. With all but 6 of the entire guest list present on the night it was a wonderful evening with old friends reuniting and new friendships being formed. The following night was a family dinner and Trivia night at the BIG 4 Adventure Resort where Amy, Ryland, their son and most of their guests were staying. The BIG 4 Adventure Resort is ideal accommodation for Villa Botanica’s couples who may have children already or a number of guests with small families due to the mountains of free and paid activities offered and also that it is the closest accommodation available to the Villa Botanica estate.

After two days of recovery activities with family and friends the couple then headed to Hamilton Island to enjoy a tropical island honeymoon, staying at the Palm Bungalows.

Whitsunday Wedding Venue…

At first what appealed to Amy and Ryland about Villa Botanica was the pure beauty and Balinese styling in the gardens and buildings. Then it was the appeal of everything at one location which for them was number 1 on the list of must-haves. From there the couple just kept being reaffirmed of their decision, starting from the sales process, the wedding planning through to the childcare and on-site make up artists and hairdressers.

It was the entire package that SOLD us. We had an army of people dedicated to our day from Tanya, the event co-ordinator, Annie our celebrant, Norina our photographer, the decorators, the waiters to the beautiful lady who greeted us in the morning with our breakfast who congratulated us like we were family.

Sit Down or Cocktail?…

50 close family and friends for a three course alternate drop sit down meal on the Villa Botanica Seaside Reception Verandah.

Ryland was very certain from the outset of the wedding planning that we were to have a formal reception dinner.

Brides Wisdom…

You can never be too organised and remember it’s your day. With the combination of having a wedding co-ordinator and qualified professional suppliers my day ran smooth with no hiccups or chores for anyone. It really gave us the opportunity to take in the entire day.

Qiret and Alex – Peninsula, Whitehaven Beach and Peppers Pavilion

We wanted a simple but beautiful wedding as the natural backdrop is stunning so we didn’t need to go overboard! I chose coral, gold and ivory as the colour which complimented the turquoise sea and white sand. The reception was decorated with fairy lights, flowers and bunting with sweet soul music playing in the background, it was perfect! :

Jess and David – Peppers Airlie Beach

I have never been the type of girl to picture myself having a huge Church wedding. We had been engaged for quite a while with no plans in sight, so one day I Googled “destination wedding Australia” and Airlie Beach popped up. I’m so glad that it did! My husband and I got our immediate family together.

Teneille and Kieran – Whitsunday Sailing Club

It was lovely to think that our guests could all have a wonderful holiday in the beautiful Whitsundays while visiting for our wedding. It made for a relaxing atmosphere for our families as they didn’t have people staying at their houses, and everyone could meet up at cafes or restaurants, instead of catering for people.
