Your Love Story…

Matt and I met on an internet dating site. We stumbled across each other by accident as we lived in different places. We emailed each other for a few weeks before I took the plunge and went to visit him. We knew we were meant to meet from the first visit. Eventually Matt moved to Mackay to live with me and he has never looked back. Matt proposed to me on Valentines Day. He took me out for breakfast and when he went to pay, he came back with his camera and said he wanted to take some photos of our growing baby bump in the beautiful gardens. He got down on one knee and proposed and I was very surprised. It was beautiful.

Destination Wedding…

We live in Mackay, which is only 90 minutes drive south of Airlie Beach. We have made many trips to the beautiful Whitsundays and it seemed only fitting to get married in this slice of paradise which is so close to us.

Wedding Week…

We stayed in Airlie Beach for one week with our friends and family. Both our families had to travel, so they absolutely loved Airlie Beach. We also held our Hens and Bucks nights in Airlie Beach.

Wedding Day Vision…

I have always loved the vintage look so this is where I started. I knew I wanted a classic, vintage, lace dress and red lips, so I matched the rest of the colours to this. Matthew was happy with the colour selection and knew I was in my element planning. I loved the rustic yet elegant feel of Earlando. I used Pinterest to collect many images and got a good idea of what I wanted doing this.

The Earlando team and The Wedding Planners Whitsundays put it all together for me. It was breath taking!

Cocktail Vs Sit Down….

Matt and I decided on an intimate wedding of 60 guests. The reception was a sit down meal. We decided to do this as we thought it suited our theme more. We were going with a vintage, classic yet rustic wedding, so a beautiful sit down meal under the fairy lights of the teepee was spectacular.

The food was divine! Many of our guests commented on how delicious the food was.

Hens and Bucks….

I had my Hens night at Denman’s Cellars and loved it. Matt went on a fishing charter with Renegade Fishing Charters.

Splurge Vs Save…

We saved by buying and making our own decorations. We also saved by hiring the PCYC bus as the extra transport to the location.

We splurged on the teepee, flowers and live band and I wouldn’t change this for anything. Best decision we made!

Whitsunday Wedding Venue…

Everything about Earlando stood out from other venues! The moment we got over the hill and saw the place we both looked at each other and said “this is it!” From green, green grass to crystal blue ocean, the place is beautiful! The other thing that made us make up our mind was the friendliness of the Earlando staff. They were very accommodating and willing to make all of our dreams come true.

I have recommended this venue to every bride I have stumbled across. It was my dream wedding come true.

Whitsunday Wedding Pavilion

Hannah and Simon – Whitsunday Pavilion

Holding their wedding ceremony and reception at the Whitsunday Pavilion meant that this couple had the time (and budget) to treat their guests to a sunset cruise around Pioneer Bay. Departing Port Of Airlie Marina after the ceremony allowed the wedding party to enjoy a different perspective of Airlie Beach as the sun set over the horizon.

Sam and Jen – Chance Bay Whitsunday Island

Sam proposed to Jen whilst on a Whitsunday holiday so it seemed only fitting that the pair return to the tropical paradise for their elopement. The couple opted for a true elopement with absolutely no guests present leaving them all the time in the world to indulge in each others companies whilst in the Whitsundays.
