Wedding Day Vision…

I had no real theme in mind. I only knew that I wanted it simple yet sophisticated with dashes of colour around.

Destination Wedding…

The best part of our destination wedding was seeing all our family and friends in the same place enjoying themselves. With Alasdair’s family living overseas, it was the first time our two families were meeting. It was just an amazing feeling knowing that everyone had travelled so far to share our special day with us.

Whitsunday Wedding Planning…

I had a wonderful wedding planner, Roxy from The Wedding Planners Whitsundays. She absolutely went above and beyond! I couldn’t have done it without her! I also spent a lot of time with my amazing mum (who was always there for a chat and to offer advice) searching Pinterest and organising small details. A massive thank you to both!!!

Brides Wisdom…

Use a wedding planner! They’re fantastic and have done it all before. They have a million suggestions if needed and are always there to chat or talk through the decisions you need to make.  Plus, they know the area and all the great suppliers!

Destination Wedding Advice…

Read reviews and do your research before making any decisions.

As for your guests… let them do what they want! It’s not worth the stress of trying to micro manage a big group.

Laura + Ashleigh – Engagement Shoot

Usually on an engagement shoot the photographer remains hidden ready to capture the moment in complete surprise. However Laura and Ash were models for Fancy Photos a year ago and so together Laura and Vanessa decided that a photo shoot to promote a new product would be the best way to disguise the proposal and capture some incredible images.

Betty and Sam – Whitsunday Pavilion + Whitsunday Sailing Club

I never really thought about Weddings until Sam proposed. I guess I never really thought about marriage either until I met Sam. We never wanted a big Wedding but we did want a special day to express our love and commitment to each other.

Kara and Josh – Boathaven Beach and Peppers Airlie Beach

My advice to other bride and grooms, especially ones that are finding the whole wedding planning a daunting task, go with a destination wedding and have someone else plan it all for you! It takes the stress out of it all and they are good at what they do!
