We had dreamed of getting married somewhere warm and tropical and had been to the Whitsundays before and loved it. My husband wanted to get married in shorts and thongs and keep it more relaxed. So we decided to travel from the far south coast of cold NSW to tropical North Queensland. Our Whitsunday wedding at Waters Edge Resort was one that only people can dream of. We had a stunning poolside ceremony and an amazing reception all in the one venue.

The weather was perfect, the setting and decorations were just stunning and everything was perfectly organised. The ceremony was incredibly personal and very relaxed and everyone really liked lapping up the warm weather and having a holiday.

The photo locations were just stunning. We were taken around the beautiful lagoon and along the board walk to take shots with the Whitsunday sunset as the amazing backdrop. Our wedding party had a great time taking fun shots and we really enjoyed getting some very romantic ones.

We thought we would only get around 60 guests but ended up having over 80 guests and everyone was so well looked after and tended to in every way possible, courtesy of I Do Events Whitsundays (Jackie in particular) and the crew at Déjà vu Restaurant. It was the most amazing time a wedding party could have.

It was the most amazing and incredible day a bride and groom could have or wish for. Thank you to everyone involved for making it so incredibly special.

Mel and Jay – Whitehaven Beach and Coral Sea Resort

After looking at local options, as opposed to heading back to Geelong, Victoria to be closer to extended family and friends and considering many options in between, we chose to stay close and keep it simple.

Leanne and Luke – Whitsunday Pavilion and Toscana Village Resort

Our wedding was beyond realisation and fulfilment. Luke and I had always dreamed of a destination wedding. A celebration that was simple, personal and unique for our families to enjoy (without the huge price tag). The Whitsundays had held a sentimental place for both our parents

Natalie and Matt – Villa Botanica

We had a bit of a whirl wind with Cyclone Debbie hitting the area 6 weeks before the wedding. We were so lucky that the Whitsundays wedding community rallied behind all the brides and did everything they could to accommodate and re-home weddings at the last minute.
