Why the Whitsundays…

We planned 3 weddings before we finally decided to host an intimate wedding on Hamilton Island, we wanted a tropical destination wedding within Australia. We thought there is no better place than Hamilton Island with the great reputation that Hamilton Island Weddings has. We landed 2 days before the big day and fell in love straight away.

The Wedding Week…

We stayed on Hamilton Island for a total of 5 days, we did plenty of sun baking, and paddle boarding on catseye beach and did a half day trip on a ferry to Whitehaven which is so worth it.

Wedding Vision…

We went very simple with the theme, vintage white wedding. We did not go with much décor. Jordan and I wanted to embrace the beautiful scenery.

Brides Wisdom…

Relax and enjoy, It’s such a special time so don’t over complicate and stress less.

Destination Wedding LOVE…

We were able to have our nearest and dearest on an awesome holiday with us, and we just happened to get married while we were there.

As we were coming down from the 5th tee an amazing storm come over which you can see in the photos, shortly after we arrived at the reception it poured down rain. Jordan and I had our first dance in the pouring rain which was very romantic then all our guests came out and danced the night away in the rain.

Teneille and Kieran – Whitsunday Sailing Club

It was lovely to think that our guests could all have a wonderful holiday in the beautiful Whitsundays while visiting for our wedding. It made for a relaxing atmosphere for our families as they didn’t have people staying at their houses, and everyone could meet up at cafes or restaurants, instead of catering for people.

Qiret and Alex – Peninsula, Whitehaven Beach and Peppers Pavilion

We wanted a simple but beautiful wedding as the natural backdrop is stunning so we didn’t need to go overboard! I chose coral, gold and ivory as the colour which complimented the turquoise sea and white sand. The reception was decorated with fairy lights, flowers and bunting with sweet soul music playing in the background, it was perfect! :

Lauren and Mitchell – Hamilton Island

I definitely recommend a destination wedding because not only did we get married on a beautiful island but we had from Thursday to Sunday with our loved ones to celebrate, we created memories that will last a lifetime.
