Holding their wedding ceremony and reception at the Whitsunday Pavilion meant that this couple had the time (and budget) to treat their guests to a sunset cruise around Pioneer Bay. Departing Port Of Airlie Marina after the ceremony concluded allowed the couple and their guests to enjoy a different perspective of Airlie Beach as the sun set over the horizon. They then returned to the Pavilion which has been transformed to a magical dining space under the twinkling fairylights and swaying palm trees.

Hannah and Simon had visited the Whitsundays when travelling around Australia in their campervan. They fell in love with the carefree vibe of Airlie Beach and it’s breathtaking scenery and surroundings and just knew it would be the ideal setting for their intimate wedding celebration.

They stayed for one week in Airlie Beach and spent four days on Hamilton Island for their honeymoon. Both the couple and their families enjoyed trips to Whitehaven Beach, the Great Barrier Reef with a few of the more adventurous family members enjoying a skydive over the stunning coast line.

We loved the warm climate and beautiful scenery and that we were able to celebrate with family and friends, who travelled from England and Melbourne to join us. We also got to work with The Wedding Planners Whitsundays and the rest of the amazing team who helped to create our perfect day!

Opting for art deco styling that was initially inspired by Hannah’s vintage style dress, the rest developed from there, including stunning art deco earrings that were a gift from a friend and 1940’s style kitten heels by Alan Pinkus that completed the look. Flower Hut designed a gorgeous cascade style bouquet for the bride, filled with cream and dusty pink roses.

The couple chose the Whitsunday Pavilion as their venue for the panoramic views and simplicity of the space.

It was a blank canvas with amazing views, allowing us to plan exactly what we wanted for our special day.

The couple were able to save some money in their wedding budget by using the creative talents of a few family members.

We saved on bridal hair for myself, bridesmaids and mother of the bride and groom as my amazingly talented cousin owns a Melbourne hair salon and she kindly provided her services for free on the day! We also saved on invites and wedding stationary as my very creative brother in-law designed them for free, we just had to pay for printing costs!

With those savings made, they decided to splurge on their accommodation. Spending their wedding week in the penthouse of Pinnacles Resort and their honeymoon at the Beach Club on Hamilton Island.

Wise move we say, staying in style in the Whitsundays always make for a much more memorable experience x

Alyce and Lachlan – Peppers Airlie Beach

Alyce met Lachlan when she first moved to the Whitsundays. He was a friend of the families and there was an instant connection between the two. After five years of dating and enjoying the seaside lifestyle of Airlie Beach they decided to tie the knot and living in the wedding heart of Australia is made perfect sense for them to host their wedding in their own home town!
