Amy and Adam chose Hamilton Island in the Whitsundays as their destination wedding venue as right across a small passage of water sits the grooms favourite golf course on Dent Island. Amy was happy to have her wedding day in any location as long as the ceremony took place on a magical beach.

Having visited the Whitsundays many times before the couple were well prepared for the tropical climate, with the bride opting for a shoe string open back, organic free flowing gown and the groom and groomsmen ditching the suit jackets and opting for lightweight white cotton shorts and dove grey vests.

The couple spent a total of 6 nights in the Whitsundays, choosing to forgo the day tours and instead spent the time relaxing and dining on Hamilton Island with their family and friends who had traveled to attend the wedding.

“All of our guests loved that we all got a holiday together! We had a day just with our families and extended families and then all our friends arrived and we got to all hang out together on a gorgeous island. The wedding was kind of the silver lining to a fabulous holiday.”

Featuring hints of mint and pops of pink the colour scheme created a youthful and playful feel to the day and was the perfect accompaniment to the tropical islands backdrop of lush green gardens and azure sea. Extra special styling touches included the brides boho vintage inspired headpiece, mint bow ties for the boys and the most gorgeous floral arrangement adorned on the seaside ceremony arbor.

“We opted for a boho beach theme as this reflected our personal style best.”

We would not have changed or have done anything differently on our wedding day. It was completely perfect and we had the best day of our lives! It really actually is the best day of your life.

Belinda and Daniel – Marina Shores and Waterline On Shingley

A stunning seaside lawn set in the grounds of a popular Whitsunday resort allowed Belinda and Daniel to host a picturesque private ceremony with a surprisingly small price tag attached.

Kimberley and Nathan – Villa Botanica

We chose a destination wedding because we wanted something different and memorable. The crystal blue waters and the incredible position of Villa Botanica completed my dream day. We loved how we could escape the cold New South Wales winter and go to the Whitsundays for incredible weather.

Qiret and Alex – Peninsula, Whitehaven Beach and Peppers Pavilion

We wanted a simple but beautiful wedding as the natural backdrop is stunning so we didn’t need to go overboard! I chose coral, gold and ivory as the colour which complimented the turquoise sea and white sand. The reception was decorated with fairy lights, flowers and bunting with sweet soul music playing in the background, it was perfect! :
