Alyce met Lachlan when she first moved to the Whitsundays. He was a friend of the families and there was an instant connection between the two. After five years of dating and enjoying the seaside lifestyle of Airlie Beach they decided to tie the knot. Living in the wedding heart of Australia is made perfect sense for them to host their wedding in their own home town!

Lachlan is originally from the country so we wanted to keep a bit of a country feel to the whole wedding style, but I also wanted to showcase the Whitsunday vibe by infusing some beachy and calm vibes. I did this by using lots of white and pieces of timber décor.

We had about 65 people and liked the idea of trying to keep it a small wedding even though you always end up with more thank you expect! We hosted a sit down meal for our reception because we liked the idea of keeping it traditional. However we also treated our guests to canapés while they waited for us to get our photos done.

For our hens and bucks celebrations, Lachlan had a camping and fishing trip whilst I stayed in Airlie Beach and enjoyed a session of stand up paddle boarding and hired a hotel suite in Airlie with a personal chef and lots of games and dancing.

Peppers is so beautiful and such a private setting in the mountains overlooking the ocean, the quality and service is always outstanding there.

Nick and Gyan – Villa Botanica and The Palm House

The Palm House was perfect for the reception, all our guests were in the one place and no one had to worry about traveling. It was like having our own little family village and gave everyone a good opportunity to mingle before the wedding day.

Jodie and Callan – Daydream Island

Jodie and Callan were treated to a seaside ceremony at Lover’s Cove with the most calmest of Whitsunday winter days. Flat seas and high scattered clouds created for some postcard perfect photos.

Ashlee and Matthew – Whitehaven Beach and Peppers Airlie Beach

Champagne, helicopters and sandy toes… these are the things that wedding dreams are made of for couples like Ashlee and Matthew who want to keep things simple, but appreciate a little luxury.
