Vlad and I decided to have a very small wedding with only 6 guests! Having an intimate wedding on the Coral Sea provided the perfect experience for my husband and I who wanted a simple, beautiful, classic beach wedding. The location was accessible for a semi-elopement and was secluded enough for it to provide us with privacy. Keeping the décor white and crystal provided a beautiful contrast to the turquoise water as the backdrop.

I planned the majority of the wedding myself and the wedding coordinator was mainly responsible for the timing of events and the organization of our activities such as the helicopter flight to a private island to have a romantic picnic, and an island hopper cruise to see parts of the Great Barrier Reef.

I suggest to all future brides to try not to stress yourself out in the lead up to the wedding, it is just not worth it. Pamper yourself, relax, enjoy every moment….the nerves, the crying, and the excitement! Enjoy the rollercoaster of emotions of planning a wedding. Before you know it the day will be over as you move onto a different pathway in your life, with your husband beside you.

Keep a record of what you have paid for, and the contact details of each vendor. Also before you arrive at the destination make sure you confirm to make sure everything runs smoothly on your special day!

Our first dinner as husband and wife was in an ocean front gazebo at Coral Sea Resort, laced with fairy lights overlooking the moons reflection on the water with private meals served by an attendant. The Coral Sea is just as beautiful at night as it is in the day.

For a small wedding keep it simple, let people know the details months beforehand. Also make sure you know when you are arriving and how you are getting there. If guests have special needs let them sort out their own needs.

Whitsunday Wedding on Hamilton Island

Stuart and Emily – Hamilton Island

We wanted a really classy formal wedding being a black tie event, there were no colour themes other then whites and creams and lots of greenery at the reception. All of the bridesmaids outfits were ivory, the flower arrangements all creams and whites with lots of greenery for the bridal table.

Boathaven Beach Airlie Beach Wedding Spots

Kirby and Dane – Boathaven Beach + Peppers Airlie Beach

We chose Airlie Beach as our wedding destination because we decided on a beach wedding and Airlie Beach has some of the most amazing beaches. Dane and I have previously been to the Whitsundays a few times before, however our guests had never visited the area so it was also a holiday.

Laura + Ashleigh – Engagement Shoot

Usually on an engagement shoot the photographer remains hidden ready to capture the moment in complete surprise. However Laura and Ash were models for Fancy Photos a year ago and so together Laura and Vanessa decided that a photo shoot to promote a new product would be the best way to disguise the proposal and capture some incredible images.
